Sabbatical Study

Candidates must demonstrate a proven record of teaching and research excellence and be based at a South African higher education institution. Preference will be given to academics demonstrating innovative research with relevance to South Africa and the potential to be recognised globally. We encourage applications from all disciplines. Awards are made bi-annually.

Only applications submitted via the application portal will be considered. No incomplete or emailed submissions will be accepted. Awards are made at the discretion of the Trustees.

We award a limited number of grants annually to support sabbatical studies
at public higher education institutions.
 

These awards are intended specifically for full-time academics undertaking sabbatical study either locally or internationally to further their current research, pursue new ideas or enhance teaching.
